March 04, 2013 -- Bay St. Louis, MS -- The U.S. Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded NVision Solutions Inc. a $35 million IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contract to design, build, test, and manufacture the Handheld Radar Simulator (HRS).
The HRS will replace multiple aging aviation RADAR simulator test systems used to test electronic counter measures in military aircraft, with an updated, rugged, programmable, consolidated and more sustainable equipment system.
NVision will design, prototype, and ultimately manufacture this next-generation system through an agreement with partners Loglinear, LLC and Applied Geo Technologies (AGT) also located in Mississippi. All three companies have extensive experience in engineering for the Department of Defense.
“We are excited to bring this cutting-edge capability to our nation’s warfighters,” said NVision President Socorro Harvey. “The HRS represents a milestone in both our military’s electronic warfare capability as well as my company’s defense engineering portfolio.”
NAVAIR is pioneering the development of the HRS, however other military branches will require this new capability as well.
