3D Laser Mapping Offers Innovative Visualisation Software

UAV mapping in Niznij Novgorod (RUSSIA) by UPVISION

In December 2013, Czech biggest UAS company UPVISION in cooperation with Techniserv and UVS Avia conducted aerial surveying works using the UAV system Microdrone MD4 1000  in Russia. The mission objective consisted of mapping in several locations for surveying company from Nizhniy Novgorod executed within a week timeframe.

Google Glass Demonstrated at the COM.Geo Conference in Silicon Valley

COM.Geo hosted another great conference in 2013 in Silicon Valley! The diversity of geospatial topics addressed by keynote speakers and audience members was enlightening to us all. The attendees' presence and thoughtful contributions during speaker presentations and the panel discussion made the event a success. AmericaView Wins Major Competitive Grant from USGS

AmericaView, a university-led, state-based consortium designed to promote remote sensing science and technology, was awarded a nearly $1 million National Land Remote Sensing Education Outreach and Research Activity grant by the U.S. Geological Survey this week through a competitive process. Administered by the USGS Land Remote Sensing Program, the grant has renewable options for up to five years (i.e. potentially up to $5m over that period).

Astrium and GeoNorth sign first ever multi-satellite Direct Receiving Station

Astrium, the world’s second largest space company, signed with GeoNorth, LLC for the first multi-mission Direct Receiving Station (DRS), with a unique offering of both high-resolution and very high-resolution optical and radar satellite imagery capabilities. This new contract brings to nearly 40 the number of stations in the Astrium Services DRS network – the largest worldwide.
