CARIS photogrammetry software is announced the release of Bathy DataBASE 3.0. A robust and efficient data management system is considered essential by all progressive organizations who have a desire to managing, visualizing and analyzing their ever-expanding volumes of bathymetry data. This need is now becoming more apparent to other users of high density (X,Y,Z) data including LiDAR.
Bathy DataBASE 3.0 photogrammetry software continues to build on its sophisticated CSAR Framework that provides support for the display and manipulation of billions of points in both 2D and 3D.
Bathy DataBASE 3.0 photogrammetry software now supports the USGS grid format data and also allows it's bathymetry to be easily exported to KMZ for display in Google Earth.
This latest release also provides improved land and sea data integration allowing topographic DEMs (Digital Elevation Models) to be seamless combined and managed with bathymetric surfaces.
The 3.0 release also sees the first phase of utilizing a third party Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) for the backend storage and management,CARIS photogrammetry software has implemented the Open Source PostgreSQL RDBMS with the PostGIS Spatial option. An Oracle® Spatial version of Bathy Database will be released later in 2010 for those clients with larger data holdings.
The additional functionality and flexibility of photogrammetry software Bathy DataBASE 3.0 is being showcased during the Canadian Hydrographic Conference in Quebec, June 21st - 23rd, 2010.
